Free, walk-up testing is available on campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday for students, faculty and staff.

365体育官方网址A small tent is set up in the green space near the UL Lafayette Student Union and Cypress Lake Plaza, near the intersection of Hebrard Boulevard and Boucher Street.

  • No ID is needed for testing, but registration is required.
  • Pre-registration is encouraged and can be completed at www.DoINeedaCOVID19test.com. Under test locations, click “Louisiana” then University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
  • You will be allowed to register at the site, but expect longer wait times.
  • You must provide a phone number and email address when you get tested

365体育官方网址As in all places on campus, masks are required at the testing site. Signs will mark where visitors to the testing tent should stand to ensure social distancing.

365体育官方网址Those being tested will perform nasal swabs on themselves. The process will be observed to ensure it is done correctly. Sealed samples will be dropped in a container.

  • Results will be emailed, and posted online at  www.DoINeedaCOVID19test.com.
  • It is expected to take three to five days to get test results.
  • People who test positive will also be contacted by phone. There is no phone number to call for results.

Information for Students

Symptomatic students are reminded to when told to quarantine or isolate because of exposure to COVID-19, or if they are presumed positive because of symptoms and testing.

Information for Employees

Employees who visit the testing site must complete the Daily Self-Check questionnaire before they arrive on campus. Health care personnel, and faculty and staff members who work in a health care setting, must complete the HCP self-check questionnaire365体育官方网址 before they arrive on campus.

365体育官方网址People experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who are under quarantine will be permitted to visit campus for testing purposes only. Quarantined or symptomatic student residents will be required to return to their assigned housing immediately after testing. All others under quarantine or experiencing symptoms will be required to leave campus immediately after testing.

Absences from Class

Students who feel unwell should complete the Anticipated or Unplanned Absence form to alert the dean of students.

365体育官方网址If you are experiencing COVID or flu-like symptoms, go home/stay in your residence, avoid contact with others, inform your roommates, and call the Student Health Center at 337-482-1328. If you are told quarantine or isolate because of you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are presumed positive because of symptoms and testing, .

If you are immunocompromised or uncomfortable attending classes

Consider your personal situation and determine if you can attend face-to-face classes. If you determine you should not attend classes on campus, review the course schedule and choose classes that are held online, remote, or that are HyFlex.

Though HyFlex courses have an in-person component, many can be modified to 100-percent remote delivery by working with the instructor.

If you start the fall semester but cannot complete it

If you realize you are unable to complete the semester in person once it begins, contact your instructor to see if there are any options to complete the course remotely.

Masks Required on Campus

365体育官方网址All students, faculty, staff, and visitors must wear masks in public areas. .

365体育官方网址Masks will be available in all face-to-face classrooms, though students are encouraged to wear their own if they have one.

Instructors will be provided with transparent face masks in face-to-face scenarios to ensure maximum clarity, particularly for students who rely heavily on visual communication.

Social Distancing

365体育官方网址Social distancing means keeping space between yourself and other people outside of your home. To practice social or physical distancing stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people. The University will follow all CDC guidelines, which require maintaining 6 feet between people in all environments.

Class sizes have been designed to maintain at least 6 feet between all students and faculty. In some instances, seats and desks may be blocked off to ensure social distancing.

Signage in halls and common areas directs traffic flow and reminds viewers of appropriate behaviors, such as social distancing, proper hygiene and PPE protocols, and maximum room occupancies.

Tip 4. Wear a mask or cloth face covering to protect others in public areas.

Tip 5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

Tip 7.365体育官方网址 Cover your mouth and nose with tissue or elbow when sneezing.

Tip 8. Put tissues in the trash bin and wash hands.

Tip 9. Do not share eating utensils and food.

Tip 10. Increase ventilation, open windows when possible.

Telehealth Counseling Sessions Available

365体育官方网址The University's Counseling and Testing Center is offering telehealth sessions. Emergency in-person appointments are available.

Disinfecting & Cleaning

365体育官方网址The University is taking safety measures to maintain the cleanliness of our campus to mitigate any spread of a possible infection.

What we're doing

Our custodial staff meets daily to discuss and follow up on all safety requirements, updates, and changes regarding the COVID-19 virus. Academic building inspections are taking place multiple times a day across our campus. The staff is using approved disinfecting agents to kill all bacterial, viral, and infection droplets on all surfaces, door handles, stair rails, restroom facilities, and water fountains. All hand sanitizing dispensers are checked multiple times daily.

How you can help

365体育官方网址Disinfecting supplies will be available in classrooms so that faculty and students can wipe down desks, podiums, and equipment between classes and labs.

365体育官方网址Hand sanitizer will be available in all buildings and classrooms. Be sure to wear a mask and keep your hands clean.

What to do if you're showing COVID-19 symptoms

Students must be free of ANY symptoms that are potentially related to COVID-19 before coming on campus. Currently, COVID-19 symptoms include one or more of the following:

  • Cough;
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;
  • Fever;
  • Chills;
  • Muscle pain;
  • Headache;
  • Sore throat;
  • New loss of taste or smell;
  • New GI symptoms;
  • Trouble breathing;
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest;
  • New confusion;
  • Inability to wake or stay awake; and
  • Bluish lips or face.

365体育官方网址Students experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 or who may have been exposed to the virus must remain at home and contact their primary care clinicians or Student Health Services in order to seek advice and receive clearance before returning to campus.

365体育官方网址The University requires anyone coming from or those who know that they potentially have been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 to self-quarantine for fourteen (14) days before returning to campus. If a student develops symptoms potentially related to COVID-19 at any point, regardless of whether or not the student has traveled recently, the University requests that students contact their primary care clinicians or Student Health Services.
